Not every problem means you need something new. Equally, replacing older windows or doors can bring lasting benefits. Here's what to consider.

When a repair makes sense
If the existing frame or door is otherwise in good condition, replacing a faulty component may be all that's required.
- Stiff, sticking or misaligned windows and doors
- Faulty handles, hinges and locking mechanisms
- Failed or misted double-glazed units
- Localised faults with otherwise sound fittings
Replace & Improve
When replacement is worthwhile
New windows and doors can transform the appearance of a property while offering improvements in insulation, comfort and security.
- Outdated, damaged or deteriorating frames
- Improving thermal efficiency and comfort
- Updating the appearance of your property

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions? We've got answers.
Not sure whether something can be repaired, what a replacement involves or how to get started? Here are answers to some common questions.
Can you repair windows instead of replacing them?
Yes. Many window problems can be resolved without replacing the entire window. Issues involving handles, hinges, locks, glazing and opening mechanisms may be repairable. We can discuss the problem and advise on suitable options.
Do you repair doors and door locks?
Yes. We work on door faults including problems with locks, handles, hinges and alignment. Whether the door is difficult to close, lock or operate, get in touch to explain the issue.
Can you replace misted double glazing?
Misting between the panes of double glazing generally indicates that the sealed unit has failed. In many cases, the glass unit can be replaced while retaining the existing window frame, provided it is in suitable condition.
Do you supply and fit new windows and doors?
Yes. Alongside our repair services, we provide new and replacement windows and doors. Contact us to discuss what you're looking for and the options available for your property.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide our full range of services across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and beyond. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, contact us and we'll be happy to confirm.

Dear Ricki and the team
I would like to thank you for the excellent service you gave me.
Rosey in the office was quick to respond to my enquiry. She was courteous and accommodating and was able to book an appointment for me to suit my schedule. Not only that, but when I discovered that many of my sash windows were in a greater state of disrepair than previously thought, Rosey was able to change the length of my appointment at very short notice.
Lee and Ricki turned-up on time and were quickly able to assess what needed to be done. They didn’t waste time taking out the window frames and replacing glass as required. They went about their business with consummate skill, efficiency and professionalism. The pair were so careful to clear-up after themselves that you’d never have known they had been there, except for the huge improvement in my windows. Further, they were so unobtrusive that I was still able to get a full day’s work done.
I have been genuinely impressed. The quality of their work was excellent and the team was so helpful. I look forward to being able to recommend their services to others.
With grateful thanks
Headmaster, Wilson’s School
Wallington
Wilson’s School has been using the services of Oakland View Windows & Doors since 1999; I have always been impressed with the standard of work carried out be it a small repair or a large contract.
Last year they were awarded the contract to replace the majority of the schools windows with double glazed units. This contract had to be carried out with minimal disruption to the pupils and in the shortest possible time, which they managed to do with ease and within budget, which is also a bonus.
They are extremely flexible and provide a service that suits the customer and are totally aware of the problems associated with working within the school environment. I have the greatest faith in this company and would not use anyone else and I whole-heartedly recommend them to any one who requires their services.

Dear Ricki, Lee and Rosie,
Just wanted to say thanks for doing such a great job on our double glazing this week. My husband and I were both very pleased with the quality of the job, and Ricki and Lee were very pleasant and professional, not to mention extremely tidy (I am sure the house was cleaner when you left than when you arrived!). We would definitely recommend Oakland View

Ricki, Thank you so much to yourself and Lee for installing a new personal door to our garage and replacing the soffits and fascia boards. The quality of the job is first class and we were particularly impressed that you cleaned up meticulously after you had finished. An excellent job all round.
